Our lead was absent today. That should have been a good thing. But it wasn't.
The rest of the shell-heads in the cell were afraid they would get yelled at if they didn't at least try to keep up the (too) high rate of production. Our fill-in lead worked the line the best they could. But the fools were still out to over-produce, again.
And I know the Supervisor handling our cell. I've worked for him, and WITH him (as a Supervisor as well), and I know his mentality about work. If you fuck up and hit good numbers one day, then you'd better be prepared to hit those numbers EVERY DAY from here on out.
Our fill-in talked to me about this situation earlier in the day. I told her, "go ask him what numbers we need. He will give you a definite non-answer. Like, 'what have you been hitting?' Then he will go on from there and still not give you an answer."
